Public Transportation in a Post-Travel World

A young girl gazes at the towering concrete structures on the horizon where the tram used to pass by. She imagines their beginning and end, like a rainbow.

The canceled trips serve as a metaphor for a society that is no longer going anywhere.
Client project for SL (Stockholm Public Transportation Agency). The client brief asked us to reimagine public transportation for the future smart city. As a response, I envisioned a post-travel scenario, triggered by a black swan event, where the 15-minute city is seen through the eyes of Generation Alpha who have never taken a car, bus or tram. The scenario acts as a provocation and prompts us to think critically about the fragility of the systems on which we rely.
